The worst always comes from the emails that you have probably received from your friends and family. These are the emails that get sent with good intention but are actually nothing more then rumor spreading because most of the time, the so called good advice being sent is nothing more then a bunch of lies. This is true of the rumors of drinking hot bottled water as people claim that you can die from it.

The fact is though that there is no possible way that a bottle water left in a car or a room that is warm could get hot enough to change the plastic bottle to the point of poisoning the water. This is nothing more then a myth and there has yet to be one person that has been able to prove that drinking hot bottled water can lead to illness or even a death. This even goes for the rumors about drinking old bottled water. While nothing lasts forever, the age of your bottled water is probably fine so you do not have to worry about the dangers of drinking hot bottled water or water that is old.

How To Determine Truth From Rumors

When it comes to bottled water, the rumors seem to be endless as so many people are against the whole water movement. In order to protect yourself though, you should always check out claims against bottled water that you have never known before. If you cannot say for a fact that it is false, you certainly cannot dismiss it all together. So to protect yourself and everyone in your family including your friends you may be forced to do a little homework.

Whenever you hear another rumor about bottled water whether it is about drinking hot bottled water or something else along those lines, start to research. After enough research you will be able to come out of the crowd with facts instead of fiction. You will feel better knowing that you did not fall victim to the lies and you will be able to ease the fears of people around you. Imagine how many bottles have been thrown out because someone was scared to go drinking hot bottled water, no matter how thirsty they were when they threw that bottle away.

About the Author

Britney Smith is an Internet Marketer that writes articles on various resources. Companies claim that their beverages are pure, clean, good tasting and good for your health. Treatment facilities claim that drinking tap-water is safe.

Some cities are encouraging their citizens to drink the tap-water, in an effort to reduce pollution and other environmental consequences caused by all of those plastic bottles. Environmental groups are urging their members to buy fewer bottled beverages.

What’s the bottling industry doing to our environment?

* 80% of the bottles end up in landfills * Producing the bottles for American consumption in 2006 used 17 million barrels of oil and created 2.5 million tons of greenhouse gases * For every liter, three to five liters are wasted during the manufacturing processes *Tapping aquifer (groundwater) in coastal areas causes seawater to contaminate the freshwater supplies

So, is bottled water better than tap, when you consider the environment? Obviously the answer is “no”.

But, people are concerned about the contaminants that flow out of their faucets. They don’t like the way that chlorine tastes and they know that it can’t be good for their health. This is true. The contaminants present in public sources include:

*Chlorine which irritates the stomach lining and the skin *THMs or chlorination byproducts, exposure through drinking, bathing, showering and cooking increases a person’s lifetime risk of bladder cancer by two-fold *Lead, a toxic heavy metal that causes brain damage and accumulates in the organs of the body causing long-term health problems *Cysts, tiny parasites that cause illnesses that can be fatal

So, is bottled water better than tap, when it comes to your health and dangerous contaminants? Any of the things mentioned above may also be present in those plastic bottles. In addition, compounds used to create the bottles seep into the water, causing further contamination.

The purification methods used by bottling companies cannot remove chlorine or THMs. Some companies use a method that will remove cysts. Some don’t. The methods that they use can reduce lead, but not remove it entirely. So, the answer to the question (is bottled water better than tap) depends on the source, unless you have a home purifier.

If you have a home purifier with the necessary steps, your filtered tap-water will be far superior to anything sold in a bottle. In addition, exposure to hazardous chemicals like THMs occurs in the shower. You can’t shower in bottled-water, but you can install an effective showerhead filter. The necessary steps for both the kitchen and the bathroom include:

*Granular carbon to remove chlorine *An adsorptive block to remove THMS *Ion exchange to trap lead and other metals, like copper *Submicron filtration to remove cysts *For more information see: CleanWaterPure.com

No bottling companies use all of these steps. Treatment facilities cannot take all of these measures. But, at home, it is easy, effective and affordable. So, is bottled water better than tap water that has been run through a filtration method like this? In a word, NO! -Larry L. Taylor

About the Author

Larry L. href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/30932831@N00/4173071487">The Brain Toad

Article by Laurel Tevolitz

This sounds strange, but suppose an alien creature walked out of its space ship and strolled around in a large, populated region of Earth? What if it saw cases and cases of bottled water, and saw lots of people carrying and drinking bottled water? Suppose that same alien then walked into a home and discovered that water flowed from each faucet in that home. Wouldn’t that visitor from another planet have reason to ask: “Is bottled water better than tap water?”

Everyday, a large number of consumers purchase bottled water. Yet only a small percentage of those same consumers have bothered to ask this question, “Is bottled water better than tap water?” The government has OK’d the sale of bottled water. Growing numbers of people enjoy the availability of bottled water. Therefore, most people have assumed that bottled water is a safer form of refreshment than tap water.

Environmentalists have alerted the public to the dangers inherent in tap water. The Environmental Working Group has announced that 28 out of 29 residences tested positive for weed killers, during a recent examination of the potential health risks in tap water. Some of that weed killer went into baby formula, formula that was prepared for 45,000 infants.

Many concerned mothers use bottled water to make baby formula, because they do not want their infants to ingest any lead. When a young child drinks lead-laden water, than that child could develop a learning disorder. When adults drink water with a high lead content, then those adults could later exhibit signs of hypertension.

The United States no longer has an effective method for assuring delivery of clean and safe water to every household. Municipal water supplies contain contaminants that can not be removed by existing water treatment methods. Some municipalities even have tiny micro-organisms in their water supply.

Yet access to clean and safe water should be a fundamental part of any form of preventative medicine. Do members of the public welcome the chance to get a cold or other virus? No, they do not. Members of the public simply fail to ask, “Is bottled water better than tap water?”

Moreover, because few people ever think to ask, “Is bottled water better than tap water?” only a limited number of people provide their bodies with the ability to fight disease causing microbes. Only a limited number of people refresh themselves with the proper amount of healthy, mineral-rich water. Only a limited number of people equip their bodies to face and conquer any group of daily challenges.

The body deals with daily challenges by making sure that every organ contains healthy, new cells. Yet the body must have a source of clean water, in order to make new cells. Filtered water provides homeowners with a ready source of clean, good-tasting water.

In conclusion, a growing number of homeowners and business owners have chosen to invest in carbon filters. When used in combination with ion filtration and micron filtration, carbon filters are the best choice. The homeowner or business owner who has made that choice can expect to sleep soundly. He or she should feel certain that employees, home residents and guests, all can quench their thirst, using water with a demonstrated level of purity. Such water keeps both residents and workers safe, safe from unseen dangers.

About the Author

Laurel Tevolitz is a dedicated researcher of critical issues that affect health and well-being. href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/34427466141@N01/2659610916">Oldtasty

Article by Ray Hamilton

So the debate goes on, bottled water vs tap water, with no clear winner in sight. Make no mistake about it, neither of these are the best solution, as both carry health dangers with them. Let me explain why.

We seem these days to be caught up in the tap versus bottled water argument, but failing to see that neither is acceptable. The bottled variety has been proven to be no healthier than tap, as the US FDA says: “Companies that market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American public.”

Many times in this bottled water vs tap water debate people forget the huge downside, that we throw away over 60,000,000 plastic bottles a day here in the US. This is a truly mind boggling amount and reason for some states to start charging an extra tax, as they have.

Remember, there are no government standards requiring it to be any better, purer or safer than tap water.

Similarly in the tap versus bottled water deliberations, we must bear in mind that a recent study has said there are 2100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer in our tap water, including herbicides, pesticides and pharmaceuticals.

Out of 29 states quality tested, everyone had traces of at least one weed killer in every glass. US EPA chief Carol Browner says: “The way we guarantee safe drinking water is broken and needs to be fixed.”

So who is the real winner if both lose in the bottled water vs tap water debate? Well the answer is home filtered water. This is the way millions of Americans are already protecting themselves and the environment, by taking responsibility for their own well-being. So much for the tap versus bottled water argument!

Forget the reverse osmosis systems you may have heard about, as they are very wasteful, expensive to maintain and do not filter out all the dangers. They also remove the vital trace minerals we need for our long term health like calcium and potassium.

They should be included in the bottled water vs tap water debate as they are just as bad, except you pay a lot of money for the privilege! The most effective on the market today are multi-stage carbon filter systems. Look for one that employs a sub micron filter and ion exchange to remove an amazing 99% of all contaminants.

They are also recommended by the US EPA as the best technology to fight today’s contamination.

In conclusion, it is a great shame that there are no winners from the bottled water vs tap water camps, as there really should be.

I hope I have shown the need to safeguard our own health and our future health, the futility of the tap versus bottled water argument and by investing in the right system, with today’s technology, we can all have great tasting, pure healthy water with none of the health worries.

Visit my website today to learn more about the systems I recommend after my own extensive research.

About the Author

Ray Hamilton is a dedicated advocate and researcher of the incredible benefits of safe, clean, healthy water. href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/56504490@N03/7165530368">Nobrow Cartoons

Article by Nicos Stylianou

In this day and age that there is a growing concern among the public, there is an ongoing debate about bottled water vs tap water.

The question is whether the higher cost of bottles is justified.

Across all United States, there is a raised awareness among the public that tap water delivered to houses through public utilities is of questionable quality. Although public authorities try to reassure us that there is nothing wrong with it, there is a growing evidence from independent scientific studies conducted by various NGOs telling us that this is not the case.

It is worth mentioning the startling finding that Ralph Nader Research Institute published, after reviewing thousands of pages of EPA documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act:

“U.S. drinking water contains more than 2,100 toxic chemicals that can cause cancer”.

As a result of this unrest, demand has shifted in favour of bottles. Fuelled also by the successful marketing efforts undertaken by the companies that promote it, their sales of bottles have skyrocketed in the recent years, all across the United States.

Official scientific results, however, tell a different story.

According to the summary findings of a four-year study undertaken by NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council), “while bottled water marketing conveys images of purity, inadequate regulations offer no assurance”.

In their study, which was quite extensive including testing of more than 1,000 brands, about one-third of the waters tested contained levels of contamination – including synthetic organic chemicals, bacteria and arsenic.

NRDC largely blames inadequate regulations for this low quality. As you might know, while tap is regulated by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), on a national level bottled water is regulated by the FDA (Food and Drugs Administration). This is because it is considered to be a beverage.

Now, listen to this: According to relevant FDA rules, bottles which are sold within the same state are exempt from any regulation. Seltzer, other carbonated and flavoured waters are also exempt. Considering now that roughly about 60% to 70% of all bottles sold across the United States is within the same state, then you can figure out yourself how reassured we, as consumers, should be!

It gets even worse: The FDA requires testing of bottled water less frequently than is required by the EPA for tap. If a particular bottle exceeds any pollutant, then it can still be legally sold as long as it includes on its label a statement such as “contains excessive chemical substances”.

I should also mention that, apart from FDA regulation which is set on a national level, there is a second level of control set by each state. While some of the states such as California, Florida, Louisiana, Maine etc. have employed strong supervision, in general most state programs have no obligation for informing the public when pollutants in bottles exceed FDA or state limits.

Having said the above, I guess that the outcome of the tap versus bottled water debate is clear in your mind: To a large extent, bottle is no better than tap and is definitely not worth paying more to have it. Only if you are willing to go the extra mile and do your own research about the particular brand you want to buy, it is worth it.

You still want to learn about other options available to improve the quality of the water you have in your house? If you have you don’t know the whole truth.

The quality of bottled water is not required to be any better than tap water. In fact, because the plastic from the bottles is leached into the water, it may have tested great at the factory, but by the time you drink it there will be residue from the plastic in the water.

This causes bottled water quality to be inferior to tap water. Advertisers spend their money trying to make you believe their water comes from a pristine mountain stream when in reality most bottled H2O comes right out the tap.

The Natural Resources Defense Council states in a report dated March 1999 that 60 – 70% of all bottled H2O is completely exempt from the FDA’s standard for bottled water, because it is bottled and sold within the same state. Unless water is transported across state lines the FDA standards don’t apply.

Another concern is all the plastic bottles that end up in the landfill. The negative impact on our environment needs to be considered when buying bottles of water and disposing of the plastic bottle.

When you buy bottled you are paying anywhere from to a gallon. You think the quality is worth that price, but in fact there is better and more economically way to be sure you have great tasting pure water. It is by installing a home water filter.

With a kitchen water filter you can expect to pay only about 9 cents a gallon for healthy clean water. The water will have a great taste and be free from contaminates.

Don’t believe the hype about bottled water quality. Install a home water filter today. Of course you can if the bottle you drink from is contaminated with something your body can’t tolerate.

The National Resource Defense Council (NRDC) findings from a four-year scientific study of more than 1000 bottles of water showed about one third of the bottles were contaminated. Contaminates of synthetic organic chemicals, bacteria, and arsenic were found to exceed the allowable limits under both state and water industry standards.

The danger of low quality bottled water is real and you can get diseases from the toxins.

A key finding is that the bottled H2O regulations are inadequate, mainly because the FDA rules exempt water that is not transported over state lines from their regulations. 60% – 70% of bottled falls into this category. And 20% of the states have no regulations on bottled water either.

Even the bottled H2O that is regulated under FDA rules doesn’t have to under go the same rigorous testing that city water goes through. For instance, any bottled water you drink from isn’t required to be filtered to remove pathogens, which are micro-organisms or viruses that cause disease. This is one of the requirements of your city water.

If your immune system is weakened, such as some infants, cancer patients, transplant patients, the frail elderly, or those with HIV/AIDS, drinking a bottle of contaminated water can cause you serious health problems and even be fatal.

With the concern over tap water being pure and free from contaminates you may be asking what can a person do to protect against the danger of low quality bottled water, and the answer is simple. Install a home water filter.

Having a home water filter assures you of clean healthy drinking water at all times. The company I bought mine from has won the award for Best Buy for 6 years from Consumer Digest. I filter my water at a cost of only 9 cents per gallon.

You won’t find a better home water filter than I use. href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/41894177347@N01/578263890">reinvented

Article by Kenneth Bodzak

As industry and our culture strives towards bettering the planet and attempting to repair any damages we may have caused to our environment, we have taken a large turn toward plastic products and away from glass and other materials. What this means is that a huge portion of bottled beverages are produced and distributed in plastic bottles across the world. Unfortunately it seems the blame is being placed on the best bottled water producers and distributors specifically, and most other sources completely neglected.

Producers invest thousands of dollars into research and development to help reduce the waste their product causes and compete with their competitors. Despite the fact other beverages are sold in similar bottles, i.e. Juices and soda, water is targeted the most by far. Bottled water is popular across the globe and helps give us a mobile source of healthy water wherever it is available. A very common, almost jovial, observation can be made while taking a glance at a bottle of water: it has a cap. Take a second and think about that, how many bottled beverages and other products are contained under a plastic cap of some sort?

When a product is opened, used, or discarded how often does the cap end up in the same place as the container? Caps may be even less likely to be recycled than the bottle them and are distributed in the same quantity (possibly more). Manufactures and distributors need to pay much more attention to the bottle cap instead of devoting all their attention to just the bottle itself. The bottle is obviously of great importance but plastic caps contribute a great deal of waste to even the best bottled water containment systems.

The best bottled water delivery services often boast that their large water containers can be cleaned and re-used multiple times. One thing you don’t see them boasting is how many times they re-use the cap. Flimsy little caps serve an important role in the business but are often taken too lightly. Even the smallest waste product can become a problem when dealing in outrageous quantities. If bottles themselves are being produced in dangerous quantities then caps must be as well.

Industries and producers need to be aware of this issue and take action to attempt to reduce the waste produced by bottle caps or perhaps develop some form re-usable bottle cap. Small and simple steps like these taken en masse can lead us to a healthier life and a cleaner planet. Profit drives businesses into the market, and consumers allow the businesses to profit. The consumers need to educate themselves and make it very clear to the producer that protecting our environment is of great importance. If the populous feels it is necessary to bring such great attention to bottled water and the waste it produces, then perhaps they should also urge the attention be directed towards the bottle caps as well.

About the Author

Best Bottled Water – Your source for all your Bottled Water information.

Use and distribution of this article is subject to our Publisher Guidelines<br

Promotional bottled water is a powerful marketing tool used by several companies to promote their brands. Promotional studies have proved that bottled water creates an impact and creates a brand recall value in the mind of the consumer. Next time you are thinking of ideas to promote your brand, make sure promotional bottled water is at the top of your list!

Bottled water ideas for promotions

Today, there are several exciting ways to market your brands / products using promotional water bottles. The advent of label printing has provided a very big room to innovate and create aesthetically appealing labels at a fraction of the cost of traditional modes of printing. Consequently, this lowers the price of promotion. Attractive labels are amongst the most important criteria for appealing water bottles for promotional purposes.

Another important criteria for appealing promotions using drink bottles are the bottles themselves! Depending on the brand image you want to portray, you’ll drink bottles of several shapes, sizes and colours. For promotional purposes, it is best to choose the shape, size and colour of water bottles that best appeal your target consumers.

Cost is another important factor to consider when ordering promotional water bottles. Make sure you estimate correctly and avoid wastage. You would do well to bear in mind that greater your volume requirements, lesser would be your price per bottle.

Selecting the right supplier

As always, it is imperative that you choose the right supplier when ordering promotional bottled water.
